Connor J signing on loan at Macc tomorrow with a view to a permanent move.

Need to be slightly careful as Macc only 10 points away from us and will be chasing a play off place. It's questionable why he has gone to a top 5 rival of ours.
I've just looked at Macc's remaining fixtures. They are currently lying ninth and still have to play each of the teams above them (except us, of course). It's Barrow shortly and Lincoln in the penultimate game. So it could be argued that letting Macc have CJ could benefit us, if he improves their team. If he goes on loan, he can't play against us in the play-offs. You could also suggest that we should loan a few more of our surplus players to NL sides. It can only make life more difficult for our rivals.

Any news of Ian Black? It's all gone quiet. The rumour is now over a week old and he left Shrewsbury at the end of the transfer window. Presumably he is now free to join any club.

Micky said in his last interview there were no further signings imminent, so I would guess Black is not coming.

I can see the attraction of loaning Connor Jennings to Macclesfield on the facts BBTC presents. That said, it's still a puzzle how a lad who got 14 goals for Wrexham last season doesn't get a look-in, when Mangan and Norwood are firing blanks.

I agree, Boz. But you could say something similar about Nors.

Thanks, RLC.

The rumour and his cancelled contract led us to believe he would be coming, but I expect he's holding out for a better offer.

Having said that, we can surely make do with the players we've got. If not, there will be others available.

Confirmed on o/s that Connor has joined Macc for a month.

Hopefully this means he'll get a run of games, do well against some of our rivals, and come back to us match fit ready for the run in.

Although as Boz rightly points out, he is probably scratching his head a bit when we have been a bit toothless recently. Arguably Connor's best position is as a number 10 but he is going back to Macc where he scored 17 in 17 in the 13/14 season.

On that basis alone he could arguably have had a run up front given Nors & Mangan are misfiring. I feel sorry for him. When we signed him he was Wrexhams player of the year, captain & top scorer. Brabin played him wide which was a joke, then he got injured, and now he's not being given a chance when as I say, we are lacking a real goal threat.

Hopefully MM does just see this as a few weeks to get him match fit and back with us. Otherwise its an example of us signing a very good national league player and wasting him.

A one month loan seems OK under the circumstances. Hopefully, he'll get match fit, regain his confidence and do some damage to our other rivals' prospects. If so, he could return a better player. However, if the rumours about a loan pending a transfer are true, I'd be less happy. If I were Micky, I'd rather see how he gets on before deciding his future.

He wasn't getting a look in here so it kind of makes sense to get him some game time.
One of my big concerns is with Norwood. Probably the worst patch he's gone through. Not only does he not look like scoring, he seems incapable of passing and showing a decent first touch! Is it best to leave him out of a few games or keep playing him in the hope he'll get the goal he needs. He looked to be getting more frustrated as the game wore on on Saturday.

Norwood has had some game time to play himself back into form and unfortunately it hasn't happened. He prefers playing as a lone striker, but isn't clinical enough in that role and doesn't seem in the best mindset at present.

Connor Jennings is a decent player at this level. If he does move on, it should not be in a way which puts our promotion prospects at risk. Finances surely are not so bad that any sale can't be delayed until the end of this season.

I agree with the general sentiments expressed above. Mangan and Norwood have been crap for ages now and Jennings was very unlucky not to get more time on the pitch, even if it meant tweaking the formation.

I haven't seen much of Connor (has anyone?), but I did him score a cracking goal at Boreham Wood. It is his only goal but sadly for copyright reasons the video is not available. However, the goal has been recreated by Paul Harper (SCoops Somersaults, formerly of White Review). It's a good laugh.

I do love a good rumour.

The latest being John Rooney coming to PP from Wrexham in exchange for Almond and cash or possibly Mekki too.

Rooney needs to make one more appearance for the dragons to trigger a massive wage rise.

He'll probably end up at York with Gary mills. Not sure we need another attacking midfielder. A bit of a idiot too but a talent at this level.

Hope that it's no more than a rumour, Sparky. While a reasonable player at this level wouldn't say he looks capable of going any higher and it's not our job to dig Wrecsam out of a hole.

I see Connor Jennings scored for Macclesfield yesterday in their win against Braintree.

Yes and what a tidy finish it was. Through on goal, edge of the box, tucked it into the corner.

Dare I say the type of chance Nors would have hit straight at the keeper. Before yesterday I mean of course!

Since the two games we played against them in mid-season, I have expected them to make a push for the play-offs. They are now just six points behind Dover with a game in hand. Barrow are fading so if Dover's current good form slips, I expect Macc to be the club to take advantage.

I still think it will be between Barrow and Dover for fifth place, with Aldershot as outsiders.
